What is It's Geno...
|
It's Geno started out with a simple concept: the comics you see on Letterman and Conan, while very funny, are watered-down versions of their actual act. It's no one's fault really. It is merely that the comics you see on these shows―while incredible at their craft―have had their set hacked apart by the politically-correcting pens of network censors. In addition, the three to five minute sets you see on these shows don't allow for the brilliant interaction many of these comics have with the crowd as it just doesn't translate on TV. This is a tragedy as it is this very interaction that makes each set unique and separates reciting lines from speaking to individuals in each moment. Enter It's Geno with a live format that brings the audience into play and allows for something that people watching the Tonight Show at home or in the studio will never get to see―a comic performing his act in his natural element free of censorship and speaking to individuals. Then, after we watch them speaking their minds for twenty minutes―not three compressed, bland TV ones―we get to ask why they say what they say and how they came to believe it. If they were asked these questions on TV they would have one answer..."because you made me." It's Geno... something TV has never seen... at least not yet... |
